In the summer of 2024, Forces Veterans Afloat was approached by boat-owning businesswoman, Emma Culshaw Bell, who wanted to raise funds for FVA.
Emma was one of the stars of the 1st series of Channel 4’s “Narrow Escapes” show – which follows the lives of people who live full time on narrowboats. Ema approached the show’s production company Bowled Over Media and put it to them that she made a fundraising calendar for FVA, featuring other boat owning women. They loved the idea and in the late summer of 2024, the calendar shots were taken. Bowled Over Media came to Sawley Marina and filmed the handover of the calendar to our then Co-chair and also filmed Forces Veterans Afloat beneficiary, Jay Saunders, as he and his assistance dog, Hawke, started their life living on board FVA’s NB Stingray.
Our logo has changed since filming – so it’s the old logo on the calendar – but rest assured, if you buy it, the profits WILL go to the registered charity and be used to fund our boats.
Emma has worked tremendously hard to put the calendar together and with help from Bowled Over Media, has financed it herself. All the profits will go to FVA – so we’d like to sell lots! The calendar will be available via Amazon – we are in the final stages of getting our seller account sorted on there. Until then, you can reserve you copy here; https://emmaculshawbell.co.uk/
