Meet Jay, Hawke and Stingray

We're really excited that ithe amazing Channel 4 series “Narrow Escapes” has featured  Forces Veterans Afloat and one of our veterans.

Our beneficiary, Jay, Assistance dog, Hawke and FVA’s NB Stingray are shown as they get ready for their new life, as Continuous Cruisers, touring the canals of the country.

The series is now streaming service is now available via Channel 4's website

We need as many people as possible to tune in, as if the figures are good, there’ll a series 3 produced.  If this happens you'll be able to watch Jay's ongoing journey on our narrowboat and see the remarkable recovery he has enjoyed, though living on the water. It’s an amazing, touching, inspiring story and the Trustees and volunteers of Forces Veterans Afloat are delighted to be able to help this happen. Jay and Hawk embody our mission – to help veterans in need get a taste of how life on the water can benefit them physically, mentally and financially.

The filming took place last year – when we were an unregistered Charitable Trust – and a lot has happened since then. We are proud to say that we have become a registered charity – number 1211509. We have a new logo and a new .org website to reflect this.  We have sadly, also parted ways with Andrew Flint, who you’ll see in the programme, and he is no longer part of Forces Veterans Afloat. The Board of Trustees would like to thank Andrew for everything he did to help us become what we are today and wish him well in the future.
